Namibia Day 2

Day 2 - Windhoek to Solitaire

We started the day with an early morning walk around our hotel, which produced only 26 lifers! Including a very close Crimson-breasted Shrike and a Bradfield's Swift.

The rest of the day produced a total of 63 bird lifers out of 65 birds seen, and 3 mammals (all lifers). The most notable birds were: 
  • Acacia Pied Barbet
  • Blue Waxbill
  • Pin-tailed Whydah
  • Lappet-faced Vulture
  • White-backed Vulture
  • Shaft-tailed Whydah
  • Southern Pale Chanting Goshawk
  • Pygmy Falcon
  • Hamerkop
  • Verreaux's Eagle
  • Black Stork
  • Ludwig's Bustard

And the mammals:
  • Chacma Baboon
  • Klipspringer 
  • Black-backed Jackal

Overall, an overwhelmingly brilliant day!
